DIY Carrot Oil
Carrot oil is considered to be very useful oil: it tones up, and at the
same time, produces a calming effect on skin and hair. Uses of carrot oil are
quite versatile, for example, healing properties for delicate skin of eyes and
lips, fighting skin aging, in particular, neck skin aging.
Carrots are rich in nutrients such as
vitamins A, C, and E, beta-carotene, and a multitude of other antioxidants.
Vitamins A and E — in addition to beta-carotene — have wonderful conditioning
properties. They moisturizer the skin or scalp on the body, thereby building
healthier hair and skin.
The benefits of carrot oil include but are
not limited to; healing damaged skin, warding off the dreaded signs of aging, stimulating hair growth, creating luxuriously, soft-to-the-touch hair, improving blood circulation, protecting hair and skin from the damaging
effects of weather, pollution, dust, sunlight, chemicals, treatments, and the
like, strengthening hair…preventing breakage
1st method:
- We need just 2 ingredients, carrots and one of the oils: Olive oil, Almond oil or Coconut oil.
- You need to peel Carrots, RUB them on a grater and place them in water, pour some oil there.
- Keep in a water bath until it becomes noticeable that the carrot sank to the bottom and oil acquired orange color.
- Carefully remove, drain, pour the oil into a clean jar for the storage.
2nd method:
- You need to RUB peeled Carrots on a grater, move them to a clean jar and pour as much oil (olive or almond or coconut) to cover the carrots. Close the jar with a lid and leave on the sun for 2 weeks.
- Each day this bottle should be shaken. Beta-carotene and fat-soluble vitamins dissolved in oil will make it acquire pale orange color. After 2 weeks, this carrot oil should be filtered. Carrot oil should be stored in a cool, dark place.
3rd Method
- Wash and peel the skin of the carrots.
- Grate carrots with the use of a hand grater or food processor.
- Transfer the grated carrots into the slow cooker and pour enough oil to cover the carrots.
- You can use a neutral oil such as olive, coconut, sunflower, or untoasted sesa
- Try not to allow the temperature of the oil to rise above 100-105 degrees farenheit.
- You will notice the oil becoming orange in color.
- Once the infusion process is complete, pour the carrots and oil mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth and strain.
- Reserve the oil and compost the carrots.
- Label and store the oil in a glass mason jar until ready for use.
- Will keep for 6-8 months if stored properly.
